Summary

• Lingua does not require an account. Lessons and learning progress stay in private storage on your device.
• Lingua is free and supported by advertising. It uses Google AdMob to show ads and the Google User Messaging Platform to ask for consent where required.
• Lingua uses analytics, crash-reporting, remote-configuration, and advertising-measurement SDKs from Google (Firebase), Yandex (AppMetrica), Meta, and TikTok. These SDKs collect device and usage data described below.
• We do not sell your learning progress, and we do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, or microphone or camera content.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Lingua Android app distributed through Google Play. EXO is responsible for the app and for personal information you voluntarily send to us, such as a support email.

2. Information stored only on your device

Lingua stores your interface language, selected proficiency, daily goal, XP, level, streak, practice dates, completed lessons, onboarding answers, and identifiers used to prevent a lesson session from being counted twice. This learning data is kept in Android's private app storage and is not uploaded to EXO.

Android backup is disabled for Lingua. You can erase all Lingua learning data from Settings in the app, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app.

3. Information collected automatically by SDKs

When you use Lingua with an internet connection, the third-party SDKs listed in section 4 may automatically collect:

• Device and advertising identifiers: the Android Advertising ID (where you have not deleted or limited it), app-set ID, and SDK-generated installation identifiers.
• Device and app information: device model, manufacturer, operating system version, language, time zone, screen size, network type, mobile carrier, app version, and install source.
• Usage and interaction data: app opens, screens viewed, onboarding steps, lesson start and completion events, session length, and ad requests, impressions, and clicks.
• Diagnostics: crash logs, stack traces, app performance data, and the device state at the time of a crash.
• IP address and approximate location: your IP address is received by the SDK providers and may be used to infer a coarse location (such as country or city) for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and statistics. Lingua does not request GPS or precise location permission.

4. Third-party services

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy:
Google (how Google uses data from partner apps),
Firebase,
AppMetrica,
Meta,
TikTok.

5. How we use information

We and our service providers use the information above to:

• show ads that keep Lingua free, limit ad frequency, and measure ad performance;
• show personalized ads only where you have consented or where permitted by law, and otherwise show non-personalized or limited ads;
• understand how the app is used, improve lessons and onboarding, and test features through remote configuration;
• detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and performance problems;
• measure which advertising campaigns lead to installs; and
• prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid ad traffic, and comply with law.

6. Consent and your choices

• Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and other regions where required): when you first open Lingua, the Google User Messaging Platform asks whether you consent to personalized advertising and related data use. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options in the app, where available.
• Advertising ID: you can delete or reset your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording varies by device).
• Network: lessons work offline. If you use Lingua without an internet connection, SDKs cannot send data until a connection is available, and ads are not shown.
• Uninstalling Lingua stops all further collection by the app.

7. Sharing

We do not sell your learning progress. Device, usage, and diagnostic data described in section 3 is shared with the service providers in section 4 for the purposes in section 5. Advertising partners may combine it with other information under their own policies to personalize ads where you have consented. We may also disclose information when necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States, the European Union, Singapore, and Russia. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers, such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Retention and deletion

Learning data remains on your device until you reset it, clear app storage, or uninstall Lingua. Data collected by SDKs is retained according to each provider's retention settings and policies; for example, Firebase Analytics data is retained for no more than 14 months and Crashlytics crash reports for up to 90 days. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary. To request deletion of data associated with your device identifiers, email hello@exo.ltd and include the details needed to locate the data.

10. Security

Data sent by SDKs is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Lingua relies on Android's application sandbox for local data and disables Android cloud backup. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures and limit data collection to what the services above need.

11. Children's privacy

Lingua is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has used Lingua may contact us to request deletion.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to a competent data-protection authority. Email hello@exo.ltd to exercise an applicable right. You can also contact the providers in section 4 directly.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Lingua, applicable law, or our service providers change. We will revise the date above and provide any additional notice required by law.
